Sustainability Engagement

Site Life

Constellium has commissioned its first photovoltaic power plant at its Děčín production facility in the Czech Republic. This installation, with a capacity of 250 kWp and 555 solar panels covering 3,200 m², will generate up to 242.5 MWh of renewable energy annually. Equipped with a 120 kWh battery, it will provide backup power for essential operations in case of grid failures, enhancing energy resilience.

This project aligns with the State Energy Concept, which supports decentralized power generation to meet local electricity needs efficiently. By producing energy close to the point of consumption, we minimize distribution losses and avoid straining the grid—contributing to both sustainability and energy stability.

Following this success, the next solar installation is planned in 2025.

Beyond Děčín, Constellium continues its commitment to renewable energy. In 2022, solar panels were installed at the Singen plant in Germany, with additional panels added this year to buildings such as a community center and fire station. These installations now generate enough electricity to power 360 households annually.

Across its sites, Constellium is actively exploring alternative energy solutions, including low-carbon electricity through PPAs, enhanced energy efficiency, and expanded use of renewable sources like solar power.
