Job Summary:  

The IT Server Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining an organization's server infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Server Management: Strong knowledge of server maintenance and troubleshooting, including both physical and virtual systems (both Hyper-V and VMware vSphere).  

  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server OS is a requirement, with a familiarity in enterprise Linux systems (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) preferred.  

  • Other preferences include prior experience in storage management, as well as familiarity with common Windows administrative tools like DNS, DHCP, and NTFS permissions management. 

  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor server performance to ensure they are running efficiently and securely. 

  • Security Implementation: Implement server security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and data encryption. 

  • Updates and Upgrades: Regularly update, patch and upgrade server operating systems, software and hardware to prevent potential threats. 

  • Data Backup: Perform regular data backups to protect the organization’s information.  Preference is Veeam Backup and Replication. 

  • User Management: Manage user accounts, permissions, and system controls. 

  • Documentation: Document server configurations, changes, and upgrade history. 

  • Collaboration: Coordinate with other IT professionals to streamline processes. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • BS in Information Systems or related technical degree 

  • 3-5 years’ experience in server administration and management, preferably supporting a larger manufacturing facility and in a matrix organization 

  • Scripting: Experience with scripting languages is a plus.  Ex. PowerShell or Bash. 

  • Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills. 

  • Security Knowledge: Understanding of security best practices and tools. 

  • Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills. 

  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail. 

  • Project Management:  Experience with project planning and project management 

 

About Constellium Muscle Shoals:     

Constellium Muscle Shoals is a major aluminum sheet supplier for the packaging and automotive markets. The plant has ~1,200 employees and more than 100 acres under room, including five casting units, hot and cold rolling mills, and a slitting and finishing center. Muscle Shoals produces aluminum sheet for use in all three components of beverage cans (body stock, coated end stock, tab stock) and can produce over 1 billion pounds per year of finished aluminum coils. The plant also produces aluminum automotive coils to be processed at our CALP line in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Muscle Shoals’ world-class recycling center can recycle the equivalent of 20 billion aluminum cans per year.
