Job Summary: This position will support the HR team providing the opportunity to gain practical HR experience. The roles and responsibilities of the intern will be aligned to prepare the candidate for the goals and objectives expected of a new college graduate HR Generalist.

This role will engage in project-oriented work providing meaningful experience directly supporting the overall HR business goals and objectives within core disciplines, including: organization development, talent management, employee relations, labor relations, compensation and benefits, and HR Information Systems.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the HR Generalist and members of the Human Resources department on employee relation matters.
  • Assist department in carrying out various HR programs and procedures for all company employees.
  • Support temporary and full-time recruiting efforts.
  • Prepare monthly HR reports and audits as needed, control chronological, functional, and employee files.
  • Maintain Human Resource Information System (HRIS) records and compile reports from database, as needed.
  • Update job descriptions and organizational charts as needed.
  • Assist in the performance management process and review appraisals for completeness and accuracy.
  • Coordinate orientation and on-boarding training for new hires. 
  • Respond to first-level inquiries to HR on policies and procedures.
  • Comply with proper internal controls as necessary to conduct job functions and/or carry out responsibilities and/or administrative activities at Constellium.
  • Coordinate and participate in monthly Birthday Roundtable meetings.
  • Participate in the creation and implementation of continuous improvement projects to enhance the department and organization.
  • Provide support to the HR Generalist and members of the Human Resources department on employee relation matters, as needed.
  • All other duties assigned necessary to perform the job.

Qualifications

  • Actively pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Human Resources or Human Resources-related field, preferred, or recently completed an HR degree, required.
  • Experience in HR or an administrative role, preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and complete in a time efficient manner, required.
  • Strong customer service/client-oriented skills, required.
  • Demonstrate good written and oral communication skills, required.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, required.    
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, required.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment, required.
  • Ability to consult with professionals at all levels within the organization, required.
  • Able to lift up to 25 lbs.
