In A&T we design and manufacture advanced alloys and solutions for a range of applications in the Aerospace, Transportation, Industrial and Defense markets. A&T operates 4 manufacturing sites with over 3,800 employees in France, Switzerland and USA producing aluminium plate, sheet and extrusions.

 

Constellium A&T has an exciting opportunity for an experienced business professional passionate about industrial sustainability.


The Sustainability Manager will lead the development of a broad-based, customer-oriented sustainability strategy for A&T, aligned with Corporate ESG targets and will closely monitor its execution


To be successful in this role, we expect that you have previous ESG-related experience in industrial companies. You will be required to work closely with various cross-functional internal and external stakeholders, so being a solution-oriented team player is essential.

 

Key Accountabilities

 

The position reports to the Strategy & Marketing Director and has a strong functional relationship with the Technical Director.

 

Customer and Market 

  • Monitor market and regulatory ESG trends as well as customer and competitor developments – including competitor materials – that may impact A&T business strategy.
  • Translate the voice of the customer into marketing knowledge to the Sustainability strategic plan including market trends, segmenting and targeting, positioning and value proposition, competitive activity, value selling and new market development.
  • Act as the point of contact to support our sales team in addressing ESG requests from customers. Maintain an active inventory of customer-related activities.
  • Contribute to upskilling the entire A&T organization and position us as a sustainability leader in the market. Develop support materials that can be used by the sales and operations team to facilitate customer and supplier engagement more independently, e.g. presentations, reports, models and simulation tools, life-cycle analysis, etc.


Processes and Technology

  • Elaborate the BU emissions Long-term plan (scope 1, 2 and 3) to capture the impact of actions, projects and investments included in our roadmap towards more energy efficient operations and lower carbon footprint products.
  • Ensure accurate ESG reporting from plants and functions to corporate.
  • Support plants in ESG certification processes, as necessary.
  • Integrate and model the impact of sustainability initiatives and investments required to achieve a long-term carbon neutrality scenario for the BU.
     

Experience

 

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Engineering, or a sustainability-related STEM or business degree.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in the aluminium industry or energy / sustainability areas of an industrial company.
  • Strong analytical mindset, project-management and communication skills, with the ability to independently prioritize your work among several projects running in parallel.
  • Ability to work in multinational matrix environment, adapting to cultural differences, and to work in network and horizontal relationships.
  • Experience working with climate-related standards, i.e. GHG protocol, SBTi, Life Cycle Analysis (GaBi), etc. , ideally in aluminium/metals (metal melting, alloying, recycling, thermal treatment, energy production and usage, metal processing and recovery…) is a strong plus.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English. Knowledge of other languages (particularly French) is a plus.
     

Location

 

  • Location is flexible within Europe with a preference for Paris (Constellium HQ office) or one of our plants. The position requires travel (25%).
